Well, everyone, it’s time!! One year ago yesterday we started up our joint blog, House of Horne. It took much urging and encouragement on the part of my patient husband and webmaster but I am so glad he kept at it! This past year I’ve really appreciated the little outlet our blog offers. Friends and family literally around the world have told us they enjoy reading our little snippets and seeing the photos we post.
So I am here to say thank you to all our faithful readers. You cannot imagine what a treat it is to hear out of the blue from someone that he/she visits our blog! We always enjoy discovering a new reader or flushing out a lurker.
Given we are celebrating our first blogaversary, I have a proposal: we’d love to continue to learn who our readers are. In that spirit, would you do us a huge favor and if you aren’t too shy, hit the comment button to say hello and let us know you visit the humble House of Horne? Please don’t let the fact that you might have entered a comment or two in the past stop you. The more, the merrier!! We look forward to your feedback and thanks a bunch!!
Happy Blog-a-versary! You know me, I devour all Horne family blogs. By the way, I wonder what the record is for number of comments on a blog?
Well, since it is your blogaversary I thought I might comment. You probably have no idea who I am. My name is Erin Landrum and I live in Hattiesburg, MS. I’m a stay-at-home mom to three children: Elise (2.5), Nathan (17 mos), and Seth (5 weeks). My husband Jonathan started coming to your website to read Mark Horne’s blog and the discussion forums. I started seeing page when he would leave the web browser on it, and then I started to read your blogs. My husband has intensely followed the debates that have come out of Auburn Avenue Pres, so we have been frequent visitors to your website.
I think your blog is really one of my favorites, your kids are so funny. I look forward to the time when I will have a four, three and two year old all talking at the same time. I imagine that I will have much fodder for blogging then. For now, I am satisfied to read yours (and others) for my entertainment.
Keep up the great posting!

Congrats on a year of blogging, what an achievement! I have frequently enjoyed reading about what’s happening with the Horne family. Thanks for letting your friends across Texas and around the world share a glimpse of your family, and keep up the great work 🙂
Happy Anniversary! Thanks so much for all the wonderful news you post on your blog. Dad and I enjoy reading the articles and especially seeing the pix of the children all the way from Saudi Arabia.
I found your site while looking for articles on Justification (Theologia came up).
Happy blog-a-versary!
Now to communicate with one of your commenters . . . Erin, do you know the Wilckes who are RUF minister & wife for So Miss U in Hattiesburg?
Just curious.
We want to know where you are going to celebrate your blog-a-versary and who will watch the kids while you are away. (We’ll take ’em.)
happy blogaversy….
Greetings Horne Family,
Just a shout out from one of your readers.
Blessings from Moscow,
Moriah
Happy ‘versary. Here’s to more frequent entries in the future 🙂
I’m sure you remember my odd phone calls many years ago: “This is Germany, may I speak with the English minister?”
Hi Jay and Tricia – I check in at least once every few weeks, usually near the end of lunch from the office. I clicked in to make sure I was getting the straight scoop on the toe. Ha! Ouch!
Watch out Ruth – Canes seem to be popular with your family.

Happy Blog-a-versary! We wish you many more years of Blogdom!
I graduated from Kwaj High with Mark. I think we mostly tried to ignore Jay back then 🙂
Congratulations! You inspired me to buy fabric and sew my own napkins. 🙂
I was chastised yesterday for not having wished the Hornes a happy blogaversary yet so … happy blogaversary!!
I haven’t been chastised as of yet, but I feel it’s coming, so Happy Blogaversary (even though it was almost a week ago)!!!
Howdy,
My name is Ben and I’m one of Andrew Brunone’s RUF friends from college. I end up reading y’all’s blog from time to time. I’m up in Philly going to Westminster Seminary, but I was in College Station for the last 5 years. I especially enjoy reading about your children… they seem like fun little kiddos!
Hi, I found your site a while back poking around Biblical Horizons, one thing led to another. I’ve been reading your blog for several months now. Happy blogging, and may God bless your family!
Many happy returns (albeit a bit late)!
Hello,
I’m just a busybody out here on the internet 🙂
I’m not sure how I found my way to your blog, probably from Mark’s blog, via someone else’s link from somewhere else and so forth.
I enjoy the glimpses of your family life.
He I is. O-tay!
Paula and I got hooked on your blogs thru Sophie and her need for a doctor. Tricia referenced an old post and we were sucked in. We regularly check for new postings and have started trying to catch up on the wit and wisdom contained in the many, many older postings. Paula enjoyed stumbling across the devotional that Tricia gave at her baby shower.
Well, pardon my tardiness, but Happy Blog-a-versary! I am ever hopeful that Amy will take your cue and decide to blog, but regardless, I love being able to read about the goings-on in the Horne Household.
After being berated for what’s seemed like years now, I decided to finally chime in on the bandwagon; Trish, how in the world can I get traffic on my site like you guys do? Hehe, shameless plug.
Congrats on keeping the blog thing a-going, and I hope to see many more entries to come.
I nearly missed the party! Happy blog-a-versary!
I’m even later than Barb. Congrats on a year and eighteen days! :^)
So has Presbyter Mark’s blog been zapped for good?
I saved all of the blog to my harddrive a couple of months ago — or so I thought. Can’t seem to find it anywhere on my machine. I was looking forward to years of enlightenment from the Presbyter Mark Archives.
Hey Hornes,
Happy Belated Blog-a-versary! I miss seeing all of y’alls happy, smiling faces on Sunday mornings. Your blog is a good way for me to stay up to speed on your goings-on despite not seeing you regularly anymore.
Tell the Town North posse that Jason and I said hello. 🙂
Teresa
Hi there guys. It’s been a while since I checked your blog last. We missed you at the Rice Reunion tonight. It was a lot of fun.
Check ours out, too at http://www.jonssons.org. I haven’t contributed for awhile, but Nils has been busily blogging. Hope you are all well!
