Oh, and I just saw Run, Lola, Run, but I’m not sure why I mention it, except that it was… something….

It’s a good take on the thematic content of the movie, but I had more issues with the cutesy and hamfisted storytelling than with the religious content.
You mentioned Run Lola Run because it’s one of the top five awesomest movies ever, of course. Duh. :p
Well, it was certainly one of the most influential. I had to keep reminding myself that I was not watching the pilot for Alias… or 24 with the time tracking and the split screen….
So list the other four for me already!
Uh–well, I just pulled that number out because I wasn’t comfortable calling it the absolute “awesomest movie ever,” because absolute judgments on film quality scare me. But let’s see…speaking purely of awesomeness and not any other quality, Kill Bill Vol. 1, O Brother Where Art Thou?, The Matrix, and, um, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. (Don’t ask me to define awesomeness…it is, by definition, undefinable. See how I did that?)
And yeah, Sydney owed quite a lot to Lola, especially in the pilot.
