Hi there, So I stumbled upon this after having some questions about “the condemnation of those who blaspheme the spirit”. Suffice to say, in my bible study in Mark, when I heard that Jesus WILL NOT forgive something, I grew a little anxious, haha, this is not what 19 years of hearing the gospel had told me. But you gave me a very straightforward answer to my question, and I thank you for that :)

Thank you Theologia for this helpful article. I have now another good reformed perspective upon the Scriptures, the church, and the covenant people. Now I am thinking of a good way of traslating this article (and other articles also) from Theologia into Korean. The word “story” is very simple common noun in English, but I know it could be very difficult to traslate into Korean because of the Korean...
- February 27, 2010 at 1:38 am :: A Short Note on N. T. Wright & His Reformed Critics :: John
Wrights exegesis is great for finding the headings of paragraphs. As long as we dont dive to deeply into scripture all is well. I dont find Wrights teachings to be quite so glorious as some of you seem to think. Wright attempts to fix the leaky boat by pulling slats from the hull. This new perspective is far from an answer to what Paul taught. This is Wright’s way of making the bible make...
- February 24, 2010 at 3:07 am :: What is the Worth of 666 Talents of Gold? :: abey
Fear of GOD is the beginning of “wisdom” & “understanding” is to keep away from evil. Solomon had wisdom & understanding but did he fulfill the above requirements of wisdom & understanding ? As a king of Israel did he not have the knowledge of the Commandments given to Mosses & of that spoken by the Prophets? Guess, he got bitten by the “pussy” bug,...

Your site is very appreciated. I have a statement – not a question. The Gospel of Yeshua/Jesus, the Christ and John, The Baptist is the same and in perfect agreement with James and Timothy and yet it is largely ignored in favor of the gospel according to Paul which he later recanted. Never-the-less Paul’s gospel was adopted at the conference of Nicea. Paul’s original...

i total agree with the article as a whole expalanation. but would like to try and disagree with some issue regarding famile Ministers.the brothers who quoted about about the Lord Choosing 12 man yes that is what i writen.as we all know. but there is there nowhere were Jesus a women will never be a minister.he althought he choosed the 12 but his own ward from he mouth was god loved the world su much and he sent his...

Thanks a lot for this article – it’s very thought-provoking and informative. To my mind, Piper’s point stands that the attitude towards Judaism espoused in the NPP almost entirely ignores the Pharisaism in the gospels. When Jesus encountered Judaism in the gospels it was generally to condemn the merit-seeking self-righteousness of the Pharisees, not to commend them for living lives of...

BT… if the historical take that Wright is employing in his efforts is seriously flawed then I challenge you (in the best sense of the word) to develop a more accurate picture of 2nd temple Judaism. For my part his framing of Galatians helped me resolve the issue of whether or not Paul was confused & contradicting himself. I find it interesting that you site “secular” research as important...
- February 9, 2010 at 11:12 am :: Paul’s Good News about the Resurrection :: yhon jetley-marks
Thing is, the ministers of Jesus talk a big game, have their focus on preaching a message of wealth & prosperity so you may become a ‘member’ of a man-made kingdom (aka church) while the ministers of Yahushua walk in power & focus on making disciples by preaching the Kingdom of YaHuWaH! Where is power mentioned apart from Shaul aka Paul of Tarsus a false apostle who has deceived...
- February 3, 2010 at 12:53 am :: John 3.16 :: Pegan
A friend I knew once loved God, and her message was the same. God so loved the world that he gave his only son. I too loved this woman and the one I married and her sister. God gives and they we go back to him. This makes me cry, because some people I really did love.
- January 30, 2010 at 2:38 am :: Paul’s Good News about the Resurrection :: Chadrick
Over the years, I’ve asked many what the ‘Good News’ or the Message was that Yahushua preached. I’ve gotten several different answers, but very few have gotten it correct. Being we are to ‘walk as HE walked’ (1John 2:6) & share HIS Message, should we not know what that message was? Many say that HE was preaching a message about ‘love,’ some say...
- January 28, 2010 at 10:34 pm :: Moses & Jesus: Friends or Foes? (John 1.17) :: Steve
Alex – With all due respect. You’ve apparently been seminary or “church” trained and are just speaking what you’ve been taught. The Torah = His instructions in righteousness. There is plenty of grace in the Torah. It’s the dictionary of all YHWH’s terms – that’s why the Berean’s measured everything against it. It’s the only Scriptures...

Alex – With all due respect. You’ve apparently been seminary trained (woefully antisemitic and narrow) and that’s all you know and still essentially Catholic. The Torah = His instructions in righteousness. There is plenty of grace in the Torah. It’s the dictionary of all YHWH’s terms – that’s why the Berean’s measured everything against it. It’s the...

- January 2, 2010 at 3:37 am :: Moses & Jesus: Friends or Foes? (John 1.17) :: Deborah
With respect, why do you assume the quote means one was “better” than the other? Maybe one came to concentrate His teachings on Law, one on Grace. Is air better than water? Both are essential. Do you see you are making an interpretation here that is irrelevant? Just a heads up. What if God is NOT in competition with “Himself” but sends guidance for us from time to time through...

I can hear them now: That is not “Only Faith” or “Only Grace” or whichever other Solas they subscribe to. In America they teach an antinomian grace, and they say [in so many words] grace must be antinomian to be grace at all. In Saudi Arabia Muslims know that believing in Jesus is not an easy believism. It is a radical choice, because to receive Jesus is to become His witness, His martyr. There are Muslims who...

- December 9, 2009 at 1:53 am :: Why Does the Pastor Wear a Robe? :: Rev Crawford
Well, in response to those who question whether a woman should be pastor need to understand the scriptures a little bit more. There is nothing in the bible which supports a female pastor. Jesus called and ordained 12 men. These where the founding fathers (minus Judas) for the church. Considering who Jesus was (God in the flesh) he was never bound by what we believed or thought to be right by man, yet he did not...

Mr. Smithson, Since I was a member of the large discussion group that you refer to, I would like to offer a very different opinion. My experience was just opposite of yours in that I found the group to be a very well-behaved and peaceful group. I would call it anything but an arrogant bunch of cranks. Seems to me that your dissatisfcation may have arisen from your inability to find traction among so...
- December 7, 2009 at 12:28 am :: Are Wright’s Critics Misreading Him? :: J David Smithson
I agree with the comments of BT. I was a member of a large Wright e-mail group for 5 years and found the NPP participants arrogant with regard to conservative values and evangelical fundamentalism. While there is much to criticize with regard to fundamentalism, arrogance is never an acceptable avenue of expression. I own most of Wright’s book and was quite involved in the daily discussions...
