Sir, I would probably have been one of those “Reformed….” . But on the eve of my 20th birthday- in my third yr. of college to be a missionary- my wife of 4 mos. (23 yrs old) and her 26 yr. old sister and I were in a car crash. Sister was killed, wife unconscious over month. Not supposed to live- or be a “vegetable” forever. Thankfully, she did in fact improve. Without going into details,...

I have been active in my church my whole life, but nonetheless, I am a real neophite when it comes to theological issues and hermeneutics et al. I’ve just now started to delve into these areas, which is how I found myself here. I just have to ask: why is the order of salvation so important? I understand that pre-election and election must come first, but after that, why is it so important? Didn’t Einstein prove...

The confusion behind Paul’s gospel is because he was the wolf in sheep’s clothing that Yahshua warned about. He deceived the Bride of Christ just like the enchanter/serpent deceived Eve in the Garden. Read Song of Solomon, he explains what happened in the Garden very clearly. Read Blueprint for Bondage (blueprintforbondage.com) http://jdstone.org/cr/files/pa ul_law.html http://paulproblem.faithweb...

I wish to make clear that I may not agree with all information at the links posted, and wish as well to emphasize that those who think they work in secret are indeed well found out….they and their devious machinations will bear much good fruit for our heavenly Father whether or not they can believe it. I prefer to steer clear of too much speculation, as there are many solid facts by which to...

In point #3 you talk about chanting the psalms. How do I obtain and audio example or teaching about this. I talked to James B. Jordon about this and he told me maybe next year he would have something, I would be happy with any example no matter how short to give me a starting point. I am convinced this is something that needs to pe part of the liturgy and I do read/pray in the congeration now. Thanks...
- August 3, 2008 at 8:01 pm :: Is the Church Year Biblical :: William Noer
I had a question that is out of your book “The Lord’s Service” which I am reading at the present time. The footnote on page 40 “Helpful introductory works on the covenant” I expected to see ” That you may prosper by Ray Sutton” and I was surprized nor to see it. I know that there is not room for all the books that might be good, but it made me think that there was another...
- July 29, 2008 at 11:26 am :: What is the Worth of 666 Talents of Gold? :: Edward Victor Murphy
I believe that I am at the very least one of a number of PROTOCHRISTS - like Ronald Wilson Reagan because I have 6 letters in each one of my names and I am no longer a victim but I am a victor like my middle name suggests. People call me Eddie Murphy and laugh at me because I am not as rich as him; but that does not bother me as long as they’re laughing! I aspire to be the KING OF COMEDY -...

I know this might sound a bit stupid,but im gonna say it anyway, so if you call the holy spirit a name (a bad name) does that mean you’ve blasphemed?
- July 22, 2008 at 2:23 pm :: Moses & Jesus: Friends or Foes? (John 1.17) :: Alex
Absolutely, you must not imply that the law gives grace. you are implying when you say that the grace gives greater grace than the law. I am sorry to tell you this, emphatically the law as you know the scriptures will not lift a finger to help. So there is no more grace in law. If you think that the righteousnes of the law will save you or to do and believe that following the law in thers of what I do and...

Thank you so much for your expert interpretation of these passages regarding the Unpardonable Sin. I hope you don’t mind but I had a few questions regarding the passage: 1) In Matt 12, there seems to be a focus on the utterance. Christ goes on to say that we will be judged, even by careless words. “The word,” though revealing what is internal, will also itself, be judged. How can we...
- July 20, 2008 at 10:31 pm :: Wright, Righteousness, Covenant :: Geoff
The problem with his definition is that covenants are in the background for almost everything vis a vis God. That doesn’t make it the primary definition. So, yes, if you are justified you are in the covenant community. But background doesn’t make it the primary meaning.

Mark, This is the best interpretation of these passages I have ever seen, and being someone who once struggled with this issue, I want to thank you for publishing it.

Dear Mr. Lusk, Without delving into the theological differences we might have, it struck me as odd as to why you would use a form of theology(Pelagianism), that post dated Paul by several hundred years, to say that was what Paul was not confronting. Also I think you miss the point of James letter in that the letter had an intended audiance of those gentiles coming into a covanate relationship THROUGH Israel and...

I believe a couple years ago, I had said,” ‘blank’ the Holy Spirit”. I’ve been feeling guilty about it since reading Matthew 12:32. I agree with Terrance that satan wants to deceive me and make me believe that I commited that sin. I have asked the lord for forgiveness of my sins over the years and have faith that he has forgiven me because of his word. Am I Unforgivable for...
- July 15, 2008 at 1:29 pm :: Does the New Covenant have its own distinctive sanctions as well as blessings? We affirm :: Jeremiah
“Does the New Covenant have its own distinctive sanctions as well as blessings?” No. To say that the Bible says this shows a lack of understanding about the relationship between the old and new covenants The New Covenant is the “Old Covenant” completed and fulfilled by Christ. Both are one and the same, except one is unfulfilled and the other...

Hi Mark, I too have devoted a considerable amount of time on proving the efficacy of Infant Baptism. I just revisited the Rich Lusk article - BAPTISMAL EFFICACY AND THE REFORMED TRADITION: PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE and would like to offer my critique of the same for review and comment. I have come to recognize a Covenant deficiency within the Reformed theology that has caused considerable confusion in their academic circles....

I read this back in 2003 and was reminded of it again when I read Paul Helm’s interesting analysis on the supposed similarities between Baxter’s neo-nomianism and Wright’s exegesis. I responded here. You were spot on about this specific topic then, and you still are.
