Judge me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity; And I have trusted in the LORD without wavering. Examine me, O LORD, and try me; Test my mind and my heart. For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your faithfulness (Psalm 26:1b-3).

How helpful is it to provide pithy formulations that only work if you stay safely buried in select texts in a few comfortable Pauline passages and fastidiously isolate yourself from the revelation of the whole Bible?  Contra Machen, the law clearly taught all who truly read it to trust in God alone for salvation.
