		<description>Mark, W got involved in the Middle East because of the risk to American lives in NOT getting involved. Maybe it was not the most effective method of limiting the risk; that remains to be seen. I&#039;m confident Reagan would have seen the Middle East as the most significant threat to our nation and would have put the region at the top of his list, though I don&#039;t pretend to know how he would have addressed the threat. I think you&#039;re on very solid ground criticizing the economic policies of the last decade or two, though sorting out the responsibility for that is much more difficult.
