This was the headline of the GOP.com website. There are some things that sound sensible to some ruling social groups that just don’t fly on the web.
Ron Paul may not stand a chance, but his popularity ought to teach the GOP something about what kinds of things to broadcast, and what they should hide.
I think that because the MSM and certain quarters of the GOP were pushing Giuliani’s candidacy as viable not so many weeks ago made Romney’s staff think they could risk being soft on abortion (I’m thinking of Russert waving the flip-flops at Romney– I think that has hurt him).
So yeah, I think Paul is acting as a “clarifying agent” on abortion. Let’s pray the GOP wakes up to the meme that they can’t get fuzzy on what is, and still should be, one of the litmus tests.
Mark, have you seen Glenn Greenwald’s How Should a Patriot Act?? It was the most disturbing book I read this year. Lots of stuff on FISA and the violations thereof.
