Leithart’s gnostic bodies

What makes this so tempting?

Is it simply “gnosticism”?

What about death?

Human bodies aren’t just soft and pliable, they are liable to death.  Thus, we must try our best to have bodies that are not flesh but metal.
Is youth culture purely a matter of media and economics (kids have a lot of disposable income).  Or is there something else going on.

We want to be fit and in shape because we don’t want to get old and die.
