God says, “I forgive you,” but I’m not sure he really means it, so I have to find some ground of certainty more certain than the promises of God. That is unbelief.

This only confirms to me I am right to stay away from the DeRegnoChristi blog/debate on FV. Others will go and bring me all the good things. So why torture myself when all I have to do is wait for signs of love and grace to come to me?

I’m not sure why I’m putting myself through following it, honestly, but I will say that I’ve been impressed (once some initial prickliness on both sides settled down) with the way the discussion has gone. It’s been quite civil and I have pretty high hopes that it will be fruitful in some way or other.

Me, too. There is still persistent misunderstanding and some strange things being put forward, but it does appear that both sides are genuinely trying to engage. Maybe it just takes a while to break down certain walls of belief about what’s being said that have been constructed over the years.
