Is it that difficult for Apple to add a wireless keyboard?

While trying to get an appointment at the “genius bar,” I toyed with ordering and discovered that if you try to get the new wireless keyboard with your iMac your shipping time goes from 3-5 business days to 3-5 weeks!

That seems excessive to me.

The apple site has some good deals on refurbished iMacs (intel) – my parents got a model like that about a year ago and it has been great for them. They are the white ones, only a little thicker than the new ones.

It’s probably because of the new, think keyboard. I suspect that the wireless version is not yet ready for shipping.

But I would caution you against a wireless keyboard. I got one with my wife’s iMac, but replaced it with a wired one. The reason: I was replacing the 4 AA batteries every 2 or 3 weeks. If you use you computer a lot every day be prepared to replace the batteries A LOT.
