The era of preferring bottle-feeding is long over and now we’re quite plainly under the thumb of a new puritanical regime. This sort of policy move only serves to make some mothers feel guilty and inadequate. And that’s the point: it allows the rest to feel superior and oh so “helpful.” Instead of rejoicing that no one needs to resort to a wet nurse, we have new ways of making people feel horrible.
