    I think his approach is incorrect. If you wanted to go for a win win type situation, then he should push Open Office instead of Star Office. OO is freely available. The Micro$oft guy would counter by trying to get Office 07 for free. That would be a win win. But of course, I would still push for OO by suggesting privacy concerns over M$ harvesting personal data with 07 products. Would you like a commercial company to be collecting the things that your child is writing in class? What would they do with this? Also, Open Source is less vulnerable to security issues and viruses due to quicker updates and faster development cycles.
