Its interesting that Abe is the first guy told that something has to wait until "the inquity of the Amorites is full". God explains the way he works to Abe when he calls him to be the priestly nation. Impliction: you need to remember this because your decendents will go through the same thing: they will "fill up" inquity themselves and then the finale will come.
