What’s playing in Jay’s iPod?

Okay, you know the drill. No Google, just your innate knowledge of obscure lyrics. First person to name the band wins, um, nothing?

Please tell me now what life is
Please tell me now what love is
Well tell me now what war is
Again tell me what life is

For the greater good of God

He gave his life for us he fell upon the cross
To die for all of those who never mourn his loss
It wasn’t meant for us to feel the pain again
Tell me why, tell me why

  1. I googled because I had no idea, and I’m not telling.

It IS rather telling, though, that you’ve picked a portion of the song that includes the title.

  2. Jay, I was pretty sure before I googled the title, which struck me as odd (maybe you’ve told me about this song before, because I would have no reason to know it otherwise).

Interestingly enough (or not), my 11th grade english class desk had the band’s name engraved on it, quite intricately in fact.

But alas, my googling takes me out of the race.

  3. Andrew, you’re being too scrupulous! Give us the title and we’ll take your word that you only googled for confirmation.

My wild guess based on nothing except that I know the title is in the words Jay posted would be: Tell Me Why. However, I know that’s already the name of some silly song we sang in chorus in elementary school — a LONG time ago.

  4. I’ll post an answer in a couple more days. Andrew, I bought this album last week, so it wasn’t this particular song I referenced… I think your secret love of all things 80’s metal is coming through.

  5. By the way, Jay, the Google ads that come up for this page are as follows:

    Word Of God Ringtone
Send this ringtone to your phone right now!

    Prophecy of Armageddon
End Times Study. Free Bklt by mail No Obligation.

    …and so it goes.

  6. Ruth, I’ve got nothing if I haven’t got my scruples.

Jay, I have too much of a fondness for 80’s pop to be in that club.

Peter, Armageddon is for real; Ben Affleck’s portrayal of Bruce Willis’s future son-in-law slash oil driller turned world-saving astronaut changed my life.

  7. Oops, scratch my wild guess — I forgot the real question was the band’s name, not the title of the song.

You’re right, Andrew. Hang on to your scruples!

  8. I was just listening to the album today and nearly fell out of my chair when I heard the lines. So then I googled the lyrics to make sure I wasn’t crazy.

Of course this is an admission I’ve fallen way behind on your blog reading… but I now have you in my RSS feed again.

BTW, Jennifer’s feed seems to actually be yours…

  9. Hello,
What do I have to do, to make an audiobook file appear on the audiobook folder on my iPod?
I didn't get it how does it work.
Is there a special extension for audiobooks, because I've tried to convert to ACC (tutorial on this forum) but it didn't work.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks
