On the way to catch Ocean’s Eleven yesterday at a late matinee, I listened to an interesting segment on NPR’s All Things Considered that was delving into the contemporary worship scene. Second, she didn’t point out a contradiction in two of the answers given. I’ll let you try to figure out which answers I thought contradicted each other. Perhaps there’s more than one. Anyway, I found it very impressive that both the reporter and the worship lady at the church recognized the danger of the new music causing one to look more at themselves than at God.

So, Jay–what did you think of the film? I’ve seen the old “Rat Pack” version, which I thought was really flat. I’m willing to give this one a chance, but I’d rather go see The Royal Tenenbaums when it comes out. It’ll be interesting to see what Wes Anderson comes up with this time around.
I wonder why Hollywood is spending so much money re-creating old films instead of writing new material. Can it be they’ve run out of good scripts? Or were they hoping that Gen-X & Y filmgoers wouldn’t care?
